Champions League Draw – Last 16

So here we have it, the last 16 of the Champions League is here already.  It just feels like yesterday when the teams were getting drew out of the hat and being put in their groups.

Champions League Draw – Last 16

Olympique Lyonnais - Real Madrid CF
AC Milan - Manchester United FC
FC Porto - Arsenal FC
FC Bayern Munchen - ACF Fiorentina
VfB Stuttgart - FC Barcelona
Olympiacos FC - FC Girondins de Bordeaux
FC Internazionale Milano - Chelsea FC
PFC CSKA Moskva - Sevilla FC

First of, the best fixture to watch in the last 16 of this year would be Inter Milan v Chelsea.  Chelsea will be desperate to progress after being put out of last years semi final against Barcelona where Iniesta gave them a shattering blow.  While ex-Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho will return to Stamford Bridge with Italian Giants Inter Milan and hope to pregress further than last year.

Second fixture to watch which will be between two multiple contest winners,  Ac Milan v Manchester United.  AC Milan failed to make the group stages last year in the Champions League therefore will be hoping for a good run.  While Last years runners -up Man U will be hoping to be in the final again.

So there it is, I predict that this years Last 16 will be very exciting.

Messi is the best player in the world!

Yes, in my opinion Messi is the best player in the world from honesty to clicking his fingers to take on four players at a time the man is a footballing genius.

One of Messi’s best attribute which I think a lot of people miss out when watching this young talented star is his honesty.  When you watch players like Ronaldo you see with the slightest kick, Ronaldo will go down looking for a free kick – may be it works best for him with his ability to score free kicks – though with Messi it takes a serious kick to actually bring Messi down, he’s not the type of player to go down very easily.  He takes kick after kick though stays on his feat and it’s one of my favourite features about Messi.

One other feature which I think everyone will notice this time of the young Argentinian is his ability to  dribble with the ball at his feet.  His pace combined with his ability to keep the ball so closely to his feet makes a deadly attribute.  It is best described here.

These are the reasons on why I think Messi is the best player in the world and why he is such an inspiration for young budding footballers.

Welcome to Football’s Latest Blog!

Hi,

Welcome to Football’s Latest Blog.  Over the last few weeks I have been updating footballslatest.net, last night the site went under maintenance and a new group of features were added (including a chat box on the home page) to improve the site.  This blog was one of them.   I have received many great feedback from many people and I thank them for that.  I hope to update the blog weekly with news from footballslatest.net and general football news.
